Bahamas Scuba Camp Programs

At Earth Immersion’s Bahamas scuba camp, participants will learn how to safely conduct dives from highly qualified scuba instructors who have experience working almost exclusively with teens. We do not contract outside entities for scuba instruction. All scuba diving takes place along the coral reefs of Andros Island, Bahamas. Please note that campers must hold a current open water certification in order to participate in the Bahamas scuba summer camp. If your child is not open water certified, we can provide that course in Florida during the school year prior to the Bahamas trip. Please contact us to schedule an open water course. 

​The following programs and certifications are offered during our Bahamas scuba camp. If you are unsure which program is best for your child, please contact us.

Advanced adventure diver

Certification: 
  • SDI Advanced Adventure Diver (equivalent to Advanced Open Water Diver from other agencies)

Prerequisite: Open Water Certification

Ages: 15-18, returning participants up to 20

​Dives: 8+ dives on Bahamas coral reefs and blue holes​

Specialty diver

SDI Certifications to Choose From:
  • Computer Nitrox
  • Advanced Buoyancy
  • Marine Ecosystem Awareness
  • Equipment Specialist​ 

​Prerequisite: Open Water Diver

Ages: 15-18, returning participants up to 20

Dives: 8+ dives on Bahamas coral reefs and blue holes​​

ELIte diver

SDI Certifications to Choose From:
  • Advanced Diver
  • Master Diver

Prerequisites for SDI Advanced Diver: Past participant, Director approval, 4 specialty certifications, and 25 logged dives.

Prerequisites for SDI Master Diver: Past participant, Director approval, 4 specialty certifications, Rescue Diver certification, and 50 logged dives.

Ages: 15-18, returning participants up to 20

Dives: 8+ dives on Bahamas coral reefs and blue holes

Dive leadership Prep

  • Assist Earth Immersion staff with dive planning, preparation and gear maintenance
  • ​Assist with marine biology lessons and activities
  • ​Non-certification program

Prerequisites: Past participant, Director approval, SDI Advanced Diver, boat diving experience and 50 logged dives

Ages: 17-20

Dives: 8+ dives on Bahamas coral reefs and blue holes
